Rovaniemi is Finland’s second most international travel destination after Helsinki. Over half a million tourists visit Rovaniemi each year, 65% of which are foreign tourists. In January–December 2019, the number of domestic overnight stays in Rovaniemi was 259,000 (+17.9%) and the number of foreign overnight stays was 479,000 (+8.1%), totalling 739,000 (+11.3%) overnight stays.
